Exterior

This year has brought us recently some spy photos of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 being tested. It seems that this model and its cousins 2500 and 3500 are about to undergo some next-generation updates when it comes to exterior, interior and powertrain options. These full-size pickup trucks will apply the latest Chevrolet design language and will be based on the brand-new GM’s platform known as T1. Also, Chevrolet will be using aluminum and other lightweight mixed materials in order to reduce the weight. This will largely improve the fuel economy and the total performance of new Silverado HD models. It seems that only the bed will still be made of high-strength steel. The towing capability is also expected to be enhanced. The new Silverado HD has often been compared to the 2019 GMC Sierra in terms of styling, architecture and engine options. However, these models will differ in terms of design since the Silverado HD, especially 2500 and 3500, will offer some new body paint options, refresh their equipment and update the option packages. The new Silverado HD will provide a larger touch-screen display with the latest infotainment and entertainment system. This model will also use better-quality materials to cover the seats and furnish the cabin.

Engine

There has been more than one option being discussed when it comes to engine that the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado HD will be using. For the 1500 HD model, we have been informed that it could use either the naturally aspirated V6 or V8 gasoline engine. There is also the possibility of offering a turbocharged six-cylinder gasoline as well as turbo-diesel six-cylinder engine.
