The 2019 GMC 1500 Sierra Denali comes as a range-topping model of a full-size pickup which got second life back in 2014 with the introduction of the restyled Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, both equipped with powerful V6 and V8 engines.
The updates include eight-speed automatic transmission, the TFT display in its gauge cluster, and the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot. The styling is urbane and elegant to fully justify the model’s range-topping credentials and make it competitive with the most expensive Ford and Ram model.
Exterior and Interior
The 2019 GMC 1500 Sierra Denali comes with a chrome cheese-grater grille and red GMC lettering, and features tall athletic lines and sharp departure angles. The LED daytime running lights and HID headlights flank the grille and add to the classy look.
The profile presents more chiseled lines with chrome running boards alongside the flanks, in addition to chrome door trim and chrome-tipped towing mirrors.
Round back, the pickup features integrated bumper steps to make getting into the cargo bed that much easier. There are also twin LED lights which illuminate the area between the front windows and the tailgate.
Furthermore, the GMC comes standard with both four- and seven-pin wiring connectors, which are mounted near the license plate and are at once out of the way and easily accessible.
Inside, the new Sierra looks basically the same as in the outgoing model, but there are changes and they come in way of upgraded and more plush materials, restyled gauges and new door seal plates.
The cabin comes with standard 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi tethering, plus GMC’s IntelliLink infotainment system featuring navigation, voice recognition, and Bluetooth connectivity. There are also available five USB ports, a 110-volt standard house receptacle, and at least three 12-volt plugs.
The updated infotainment software allows compatible smartphone users to connect their device to the GMC’s IntelliLink infotainment system.
Powertrain
The 2019 GMC 1500 Sierra Denali is equipped with the EcoTec3 5.3-liter V-8 making 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. On option is also a 6.2-liter V-8 pumping out 420 horsepower and a whopping 460 pound-feet of toque.
However, the latest and most exciting update is an eight-speed automatic transmission that replaces the old six-speed automatic.
The four-wheel-drive setup offers standard rear-wheel drive, and automatic four-wheel-drive mode, four-wheel-drive high range, and four-wheel-drive low range – all controlled at the switch of the dashboard mounted knob.
The pickup’s EPA estimates are 15 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined.
2019 GMC 1500 Sierra Denali Price
