The year 2017 is revealing us another member in a series of elegant and powerful crossovers. It will be the new Mazda CX-5 which made its debut at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show. The new CX-5 will appear with fresh look and upgraded interior features, but the manufacturers have also used the Japanese philosophy and aimed to achieve perfect harmony between car and driver.
Exterior
When it comes to exterior of the new 2017 Mazda CX-5, we can say that it will certainly be very expressive. This model will somehow look dynamic and as if it cuts through the air even when it is standing still. Mazda here used the well-known, so-called “Soul of Motion” design philosophy. So, we will not be wrong if we state that the new CX-5 is a piece of art to a certain extent and that it definitely has a dynamic beauty. This model will be available in four trims – Sport, Touring, Grand Select and Grand Touring. It will also be offered in a new body paint version – Soul Red Crystal Metallic. A standard version will come with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels wrapped in all-season tires. The front fascia will get a redesigned sophisticated grille that will mostly keep its pentagon shape; also, there will be slimmer and swept-back LED headlights with daytime running lights.
Interior
Inside the 2017 Mazda CX-5, you will find an interior that perfectly matches the elegant and sophisticated exterior of this model. Moreover, you can expect a quieter cabin because the manufacturers used special materials in order to reduce the road noise. The new CX-5 will also offer a spacious cabin with plenty of room to perfectly accommodate five adult passengers. The front and the rear seats will be comfortable, supportive and heated. The rear passengers will also get rear conditioning vents and USB ports. On the simple and modern dashboard, you will find a multi-information display as well as a 7.0-inch touch screen as a center console with Mazda Connect infotainment system and numerous options such as navigation, dual-zone climate control, audio system with six speakers, rearview camera, Bluetooth and others. Safety systems and driver assist features will also be included ( airbags, traction control system, smart brake support, traffic sign recognition, radar cruise control, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert…)
Engine
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 will come with the 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine. Such an engine will be able to deliver 187 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. The estimated top speed is 120 mph.
