The F-Series Super Duty models has for the longest time been America’s best-selling truck, and now in the 2017 Ford F-250 iteration it has received the second-generation 6.7-liter, Power Stroke V-8 turbo-diesel engine, updated with a new GT37 turbocharger, that now delivers more towing power than ever.
Naturally, the model continues the design language of the 2019 Ford F-150 but it offers up a few surprises all its own, as well as some unique as-yet unseen updates included in the exterior, such as new wheels, a strengthened frame and improved suspension. All these updates allow for increased towing capacity.
Exterior and Interior
The 2019 Ford F-250 sports a standout block-lettering “”Super Duty” emblem across the hood just above the grille. The front bumper is made of chrome with body-colored end caps. Similarly, the truck features a large chrome trim piece on the tailgate.
The truck’s grille comes with a unique take on the trademark Ford’s three-bar design. Each of the three horizontal bars are made up of smaller horizontal bars, giving it a different look than the other F-150s in the lineup.
Moreover, the LED headlights and fog lights come as standard, which makes sense given the Limited trim is marketed as a range-topping model. In addition, the truck sits on bespoke 22-inch chrome wheel.
Other upgrades list lane-keeping assist, the 360-degree camera system, and Ford’s all-new Pro Trailer Backup Assist. Plus, power-deployable running boards, remote tailgate release, and the class-exclusive panoramic glass roof.
The F-250 trim comes in a wide array of body styles and trim levels, ranging from the regular cab work trucks to top-of-the-line four-door crew cab models with interiors packed with luxury items.
Inside the cabin, the new F- 250 features a dashboard covered in soft touch materials. There is one new feature the truck offers – the new SYNC 3 infotainment system software, including enhanced voice recognition, allowing occupants to speak more naturally into the system.
